Michelle in her impressive speech at the Democratic National Convention said, “When people ask me whether being in the White House has changed my husband, I can honestly say that when it comes to his character, and his convictions, and his heart, Barack Obama is still the same man I fell in love with all those years ago.”
Seeking the re-election of her husband, Michelle asked audience to stand together for the man they can trust to keep moving this great country forward. "My husband, our President, President Barack Obama is that man," she said.
The First Lady narrated her personal story and that of her husband, Barack, to give an insight into the kind of person the US President is and what changes have occurred in him due to four years of his presidency.
Stating that serving as the First Lady is an honor and a privilege, she said after so many struggles and triumphs and moments that have tested her husband in ways she never could have imagined, she has seen firsthand that being president doesn't change who one is and it reveals who they are.
"I've seen how the issues that come across a President's desk are always the hard ones the problems where no amount of data or numbers will get you to the right answer the judgment calls where the stakes are so high, and there is no margin for error. And as President, you can get all kinds of advice from all kinds of people," the First Lady said.
Obama, she said, knows American Dream because he's lived it and wants everyone in this country to have that same opportunity, no matter who they are, or where they are from, or what they look like, or who they love.
"And he believes that when you've worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity you do not slam it shut behind you…you reach back, and you give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed," she added.
