Helmed by Anurag Kashyap, the film will have Karan Johar playing a negative role. The film-maker turned actor will essay the role of Kaizad Khambatta in the flick.

Karan Johar took to Twitter to reveal his first look in the movie. "The villain in @anuragkashyap72 's #BombayVelvet... Kaizad Khambatta essayed by yours truly!!!" his tweeted.

KJo who is known for his comic timing looks intense and mean in his villianious avatar in the posters. He has a full fledged role in the film which is a love triangle between the three protagonists.



Anushka essays the role of Rosie Noronha a jazz singer and the love interest of Johnny Balraj, a boxer, played by Ranbir Kapoor.

Anushka posted the picture on Twitter with a caption, "Guys introducing Rosie Noronha of #BombayVelvet @foxstarhindi @FuhSePhantom". She essays the character of Rosie, who is a jazz singer.

The actress had also shared the first look of Ranbir Kapoor in the film. While unveiling the poster, Anushka Sharma wrote, "Welcome Johnny Balraj! Our first poster #BombayVelvet @foxstarhindi @FuhSePhantom".



'Bombay Velvet' is adapted from historian Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables'. Set in Bombay of the 1960s, the film tells the story of a boxer, Johnny Balraj, and an aspiring jazz singer, Rosie.

'Bombay Velvet' is slated to release on May 15.
