Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said the oath-taking by new Lok Sabha members will take place on June 4 and 5.

Talking to the media here, he added that the Speaker would be elected on June 6.

President Pranab Mukherjee will address joint session of both Houses of Parliament on June 9.

Naidu also said that all ministers have been asked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prepare agenda for the first 100 days.

“PM has directed ministers to prepare agenda for the first 100 days,” he said.

“PM Narendra Modi has asked ministers to focus on governance, delivery and implementation and resolve all pending issues urgently,” he added.

Naidu further said the Prime Minister has asked all the Cabinet Ministers that all Ministers of State should be taken into confidence and given proper work.

This would be the first Budget Session under the new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Containing inflation top priority, says government

Naidu further said that containing inflation is the top priority for the government.

"Containing inflation is an obvious priority for the government," Naidu told the media after a Cabinet meeting chaired by Modi.
