Gaya: Five Maoists, including a self-styled zonal commander, were arrested from Bihar's Gaya district on Wednesday, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a place near Barachatti Police Station and arrested Naxal leader Salimji and his four colleagues, they said.

Eight bags of explosives were also seized during the operation. Salimji was carrying a cash reward of Rs 25,000 on his head.

The arrested ultras were wanted in several cases relating to attack on policemen, snatching of rifles and other criminal incidents, police said.
