Garhwa: In a major jolt to the naxal’s movement in Jharkhand, the police on Wednesday arrested five hardcore ultras in connection with January 21 landmine blast which killed nine policemen. The arrest was made during an anti-naxal drive Swipe-2 carried out by the district police from February 26-28.

All are identified as Arjun Yadav, Mohan Yadav, Devsagar Yadav, Manish Prasad Gupta and Surendra Prasad.

SP Michael Raja informed that all were part of interstate extremist group.

He said, “All of them belong to separate villages and they were wanted in various naxal incidents that occurred in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.”

According to Raja, the CRPF jawans, district armed police and COBRA jawans were involved in the three-day anti-naxal drive.
