Apple iPhone 6 Plus

Apple launched the iPhone 6 Plus smartphone in India in October. The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus has been priced at Rs. 62,500 for the 16GB variant, Rs. 71,500 for the 64GB variant, and Rs. 80,500 for the 128GB variant.

Apple iPhone 6 Plus's screen measures 5.5 inches and has a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1mm thick and have been upgraded with high-speed Wi-Fi 802.11ac support. iPhone 6 Plus has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front camera, with improved sensors. The phone feature the new Apple A8 processor and a motion co-processor labelled M8. Apple promises that the device will provide better battery life than the iPhone 5s.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was launched in the India at Rs 58,300 in October. Galaxy Note 4 has a 5.7-inch display and packs the 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor. It comes with 3GB RAM and the only storage option now is 32GB, with support for 64GB microSD cards for more storage. The rear camera has 16MP resolution and comes with Optical Image Stabilization. It also sports a 3.7MP front camera that allows users to take wide-angle selfies (120-degree).

Galaxy S5 features like fingerprint sensor embedded in the Home key and heart rate monitor on the back also find a place in Galaxy Note 4. Samsung has also included a barometer and hall sensor in its new phablet.

Motorola Moto G (Second generation)

Motorola launched the second generation of its popular Moto G, called the Moto G (Gen 2) in September at Rs. 12,999 for the 16GB version. The smartphone is powered by Android 4.4.4 KitKat and is available in 8GB and 16GB variants. The biggest addition to the smartphone compared to the first-generation Moto G is the inclusion of a microSD card slot. The Moto G (Gen 2) features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8226) processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and the Adreno 305 GPU.

The second-generation Moto G features an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options on the Moto G (Gen 2) include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0LE, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 141.5x70.7x10.99mm, and weighs 149 grams. It is powered by a 2070mAh battery.

OnePlus One

OnePlus launched the much-awaited One smartphone in India at Rs 21,999 in December. OnePlus One sports a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 5.5-inch display, 3GB RAM, 64GB memory, 13MP rear and 5MP front camera, 3,100 mAh battery, 4G support and NFC. It runs CyanogenMod 11S, a custom aftermarket version of Android, developed by Cyanogen.
Users in India will receive India-specific invites through OnePlus and The two platforms have been integrated so that invites can be used to purchase the device exclusively on eCommerce major, Amazon. The company has partnered with HCL Care to offer after- sales service across 20 cities in India.

Xiaomi Redmi Note

Priced at Rs 8,999, the Redmi Note features dual-SIM support with dual standby, and runs Android 4.2.2 with Xiaomi's MIUI v5 skin on top. Powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MTK6592 SoC, it is coupled with a Mali-450MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It sports a 5.5-inch 720x1280-pixel IPS LCD screen and features a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 8GB of built-in storage with expansion via microSD card (up to 32GB).

Connectivity options on the Redmi Note include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot functionality, Bluetooth 4.0, a Micro-USB port with OTG support, and A-GPS. It is powered by a 3,100mAh battery.

Nokia Lumia 830

Lumia 830, priced at Rs 28,799,  has a 10 MP camera wth Carl Zeiss optic. Powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor with 1GB RAM,  the smartphone has 16GB internal storage.

The flagship 830 comes with Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim operating system, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal user memory (15 GB OneDrive cloud storage and up to 128 GB micro SD card). It has a 5-inch display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 10 MP camera and 2,200 mAh removable battery.

Sony Xperia Z3

Sony launched its flagship smartphone Xperia Z3 in India priced at Rs 51,990 in September. The Xperia Z3 comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5 GHz quad-core CPU featuring 3 GB RAM and are 4G LTE enabled for faster browsing. The handset sport a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with a 25 mm wide angle lens and has a 2600 mAH battery. Sony also promises that the handset will provide up to two days battery life.
The 5.2-inch Xperia Z3 will be available in Black, White and Copper colours.The smartphone also has a feature for the gaming enthusiasts as it offer PS4 (Play Station) remote play that enables using it as a remote screen to connect to and control games on PS4.
Sony India is also expanding its distribution to 10,000 retail outlets including 250 exclusive Xperia Stores in FY 2014.

Oppo Find 7

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo launched its Find 7 smartphone in India at Rs 37,990. Oppo Find 7 is the first smartphone in the Indian market to offer a QHD (or 2K) display panel, with a resolution of 1440x2560p. With screen size of 5.5-inch, the Find 7 has the highest pixel density in the smartphone market with 538 pixels per inch.

Find 7 sports an 13MP camera with a Super Zoom mode that merges 10 photos to create a single 50MP image. The smartphone can also capture 4K (movie hall quality) as well as slow-motion (720p at 120fps) videos. It packs an LED flash on the back and a 5MP camera in front.

Oppo Find 7 is powered by 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) operating system, with the company's own ColorOS 1.2 on top, and 3GB RAM, It comes with 32GB internal storage, microSD support and 3,000mAh battery.


LG Electronics launched its new flagship smartphone LG G3 at Rs 47,990 for 16GB and Rs 50,990 for 32GB in July.

The 4G-supporting smartphone features a 5.5-inch quad HD display, 13 megapixel OIS+ (Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) rear camera and 2.1 MP front camera. With the latest Android KitKat operating system, LG G3 also has a a removable 3,000 mAh battery, 2/3 GB RAM and internal memory of 16 GB and 32 GB options. It also has a micro SD slot with maximum 128 GB capacity.

LG G3 also sports a 'Kill Switch' that can disable the handset in the event of a theft, features a laser auto focus camera, smart keyboard, smart notice and a slim metallic design. The phone would be available in three colours.

HTC One E8

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC launched One E8 in the Indian market at Rs 34,990 in July. The handset supports dual SIM and features the same 5-inch Full HD display. It is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat, with HTC's propitiatory Sense 6 UI loaded on top. One E8 sports a 13 megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor and 5MP front facing camera.

The HTC One (E8) is a stylish lightweight device that reminds one of the HTC One. The phone comes with Motion Launch, HTC BoomSound and comes with a 2600 mAh battery.
