Apart from praises, Aamir Khan faced some major criticisms after being waded into controversy with his remarks on growing intolerance. Many of his fans and friends came forward to defend the actor, but many stood against him. Aamir, whose net worth is approx USD 180 million, is currently busy while shooting for his upcoming movie 'Dangal'.

Dhoni became a topic of discussion after a biopic on his life was announced. The movie will be starring Sushant Singh Rajput, who happens to be Dhoni's good friend.

He is widely regarded as the greatest cricketer of all time. Sachin announced his retirement from One Day Internationals in 2012 and Tests in 2013. In the same year he became the youngest Indian and the only sportsperson ever to recieve Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. In 2015, the cricketer made headlines with his active participation in various sports related activities. He, along with Shane Warne, launched Cricket All stars series, to promote the game in United States.But really worth noticing was Sachin's popularity in America with stadiums packed with people who had gathered to see the God of cricket and other retired legends competing against each other. Sachin also bought stakes in ISL team Kerela Blasters, which unfortunately stood last in the standings this year. Smaash entertainments, a Sachin Tendulkar company tied up with global football star Christiano Ronaldo.

Saina Nehwal

She is the most successful Indian woman badminton player and currently enjoys the number two rank in BWF World Rankings. This year was the year of achievements for the badminton star. She beat Spain's Carolina Marin in The Indian Open Grand Prix, breaking the long existing jinx. This made her the first Indian woman to become world number in world badminton rankings. She became the first Indian woman shuttler to reach the finals of All England Open Badminton Championships, but lost to Carolina in the final. Carolina beat Saina in World Badminton Championships again to make the Indian badminton champion, settle for silver. Opening round defeat in Dubai World Super Series Finals proved to be glitch to an otherwise great run of Saina Nehwal. Apart from this, Saina garnered attention 'Taare Zameen Par' director Amol Gupte announced tomake a biopic on the her life.

Salman Khan

Whether it's about battling legal proceedings in the courts or about giving blockbuster of the year, Salman Khan hit the headline throughout the year. The actor whose net worth is approx USD 200 million, gave two blockbusters, 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' this year. Apart from his filmy career, Salman was in the limelight due to his hit-and-run case in which the Bombay High Court acquitted the superstar on December 10.

The ace Indian Tennis player Sania Mirza is currently ranked world No. 1 in women's doubles. She took retirement from singles in 2013. At that time she was ranked as India's No. 1 player in both singles and doubles by the Women's Tennis Association. With respect to 2015, Sania Mirza said, "It's tough to have a better year than 2015". And she couldn't have been more correct. She and her doubles partner Martina Hingis won ten titles together in the year, fetching them the first women's doubles ranking in the world. She also became the first Indian woman to win women's doubles Grand Slam title. This achievement got Sania Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award too. She also featured in Indian Tennis Premier League for the team Indian Aces, which was a table topper throughout the tournament but ultimately lost to Singapore Slammers. Sania's friendship with Bollywood stars has also been a topic of discussion. When Shahrukh Khan starrer 'Dilwale' was being shot in Hyderabad, Sania went to the sets with home made 'biryani'. Shahrukh Khan mentioned this with a picture on his twitter account.  

Sardara Singh
He is the current captain of the Indian national hockey team and usually plays the center half position. 2015 was a memorable year for Sardara on both professionaland personal fronts. To start with, he was awarded fourth highest civilian award in India, Padma Shri. While under his leadership, Indian won the bronze medal in Hockey World League, breaking the 33 year long jinx. The team also secured third position in Azlan Shah Cup. As a big step in his personal life, he announced marriage with his long term girlfriend, Ashpal Kaur Bhogal. In Hockey India League, he was the most expensive buy in the auction.

He is the real 'Badshah' of Bollywood who knows how to rule over millions of hearts. Shah Rukh Khan has made headlines throughout the year whether it is about making movies or controversial statements.
