Bhopal: Samajwadi Party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav on Saturday said that social activist Anna Hazare should float a party and contest election prior to making comments against politicians of being corrupt.

The SP leader, who made this statement in a Kisan Bachao rally here, was reacting to Anna’s remark on politicians being corrupt. He said that the activist should float a party and then weed out corruption by becoming the Prime Minister of the country.

SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother said, “Calling every leader corrupt is unjustified. It is not appropriate to call all leaders corrupt and getting them insulted from the supporters.”

Mulayam Singh Yadav had already asked Anna to float a party.  “The Party will present its opinion when the Lokpal Bill comes up for the discussion in Parliament,” said the SP general secretary.

“There is more corruption in non-political areas. Which class is not involved in corruption?” he asked, adding “whenever there is a discussion on Lokpal Bill, we will stress on the inclusion of Non- Government Organisations (NGOs).”

“In the forthcoming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, the contest will be between Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party,” he said, adding AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi has no influence in the state, as the Bihar Assembly poll results have already given him the idea about his influence on common men.

“No farmer had so far committed suicide in Madhya Pradesh, but for the first time they are resorting to suicides. We should discuss why this trend has emerged in the state. When the percentage of farmers’ suicide rate is dropping in the country, it is surging in the state.  This is a matter of grave concern,” said the SP leader.

He said the state government must look into it and find out the real cause behind it. “The farmers have not received adequate compensation and relief so far. They are resorting to suicides because of banks’ pressure and local lender’s interest,” he added.
