According to reports, both the governments are keeping a close watch on the evolving situation. The water level in the Sone River is yet to rise to the danger mark. It is expected that the situation may change after the water reaches the Inderpuri Barrage in Rohtas District.

 

It may be mentioned here that Saharsa, Supaul and Khagaria are also amongst the flood affected areas and had been witnessing protests against the insufficient relief given to them.

 

However more than 1.8 million people have been affected by the floods with major rivers, including the Ganga, Kosi, Gandak and Bagmati, submerging large tracts of land and forcing thousands to be evacuated.

 

Till date, floods have claimed over 20 lives, including 12 in Nalanda.
