Chandigarh: To keep a round the clock vigil in flood prone areas of Haryana, the state government has set up a Flood Control Room in Yamunanagar district.

The centre has been set up in district secretariat in Yamunanagar to deal with flooding in the hilly areas located at the northern end of Yamunanagar in Haryana and also in adjoining Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand, a spokesman said here on Monday.

He said that helplines at 01732-237800 and 237801 numbers has been started in the Flood Control Room.

Apart from this, Flood Control Rooms have been set up at Sub-division level in Jagadhari and Bilaspur, Block Development and Panchayat Officer Office, Radaur, Tehsil Office, Chachrauli and office of Water Services Divisional, Jagadhari and Hathni Kund Barrage.

These would work till October 15, he said. For the past few days, there have been heavy rains at many places in Haryana and at many places in its neighbouring states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
