Patna: In what appears to be glaring case of corruption, Bihar Food Inspector Surendra Kumar turned millionaire with assets worth Rs 5.3 crore. Documents of assets worth Rs 5.3 crore were recovered from his residence in a raid conducted by Vigilance Bureau.

During the raid, it was revealed that the official has allegedly amassed assets disproportionate to the known sources of his income.

Vigilance Bureau SP, Parvez Akhtar said, “Documents of assets worth Rs 5.30 crore have been recovered during the raid at food inspector’s residence. However, the value of his assets might cross over Rs 10 crore.”

The officer also said that the food inspector was running an ITI near his resident in Ashok Nagar area of Patna and was planning to set up a medical college and a dental college in Rajgir for which he purchased 23 acres of land.
