The phenomenon has been revealed in a study, which says that three-quarters of women in Britain admit that they wouldn’t go to work without make-up on and a fifth of these women feared ‘getting in trouble’ at work if they failed to wear makeup, reports a website.

The research, conducted by, aimed to look at the beauty habits of women.

The study was conducted over 1,812 women aged 18 and over from across Britain all of whom were in employment at the time of the poll.

Sixty-two percent of the respondents admitted that they would feel insecure if they didn't wear make-up to work, and surprisingly 47 percent believed it would negatively affect how their colleagues perceived them.
