However, its domestic sales declined by 28.42 percent to 5,661 units in November as against 7,909 units in the same month of last year, it added.

Ford's exports jumped 71.48 percent to 7,101 units last month as against 4,141 units in the year-ago period.   

Ford India Marketing, Sales and Service executive director Anurag Mehrotra said, "The perceived improvement in consumer sentiment is yet to translate into better sales for the automotive industry. A lacklustre festive season was certainly not what the industry expected."

He added, "While we are confident of the long-term growth potential of the Indian market, we continue to be cautiously optimistic in the near-term."

The company said it has commenced retail distribution of Ford genuine service parts in November with the appointment of its first exclusive distributor – Eminent Auto Parts - for the Delhi Region.

Ford said it will enhance customer convenience and access to competitively priced, high-quality auto parts.
