Powering the Mustang is a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine developing 401hp of maximum power and 515Nm of maximum torque output. The engine gets mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. A smaller 2.3-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost engine is also expected to power the Mustang in future. Ford claims a top speed of 250kmph for its muscle car Mustang.

Ford India offers Mustang with many exciting and class leading features including projector headlamps with an LED signature motif, vertically oriented 'three-bar' LED tail-lamps with retro-looking, airplane-like toggle switches on the centre console, eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system and so on.

The most interesting feature of Mustang is the Electronic Line Lock which allows the front brakes to be locked electronically and leaving the rear tyres to rotate freely, which makes doing big and smoky burnouts remarkably easy. There is an option for the drivers of Mustang to choose from four driving modes – Normal, Sport+, Track and Wet.

Mustang made its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo held at Greater Noida in February. Though Mustang is launched in India for the first time, it is currently in the sixth generation worldwide. This sixth generation Mustang was unveiled in 2014 while celebrating the model’s 50th anniversary and it is the first ever car to be developed for right-hand-drive markets as well.
