Palampur: Citing dynasty politics as one of the reasons for corruption in the country, former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party vice president Shanta Kumar has urged for discouraging such tendencies.

He was addressing mediapersons while releasing his book ‘Bhrastachar ka Karwa Sach’ and his wife’s ‘Deepshikha’ on his 78th birth day.

Citing the example of former Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa, the BJP leader said BSY lost his chair for allegedly showing favour to his children.

Former Union Minister Kumar said he did not promote his kith and kin in politics as he always believed in the politics of principle and meritocracy.

Commenting on the Lokpal bill, the BJP vice president said, “I do not agree with the derogatory remarks uttered by some members of Team Anna against the political leaders, but at the same time I oppose the breach of privilege motion brought against them by some members.”
