Jammu: Former National Conference MLC Trilochan Singh Wazir and two of his associates, including his brother, were arrested on Thursday   for their alleged involvement in murders of cement tycoon Raju Chopra and his family here five years ago, a senior police official said.

"Trilochan Singh Wazir, his brother Ajab Singh and one person identified as Baliya has been detained for interrogation in connection with Raju Chopra murder case," Jammu SSP Basant Rath said.

Raju Chopra, his wife Madhu, daughter Saloni, servant Sonu and driver Jagan Nath were murdered at their house in Trikuta Nagar here on the intervening night of September 17-18, 2006.

The arrests were made on the basis of the statement of a suspect in the case before a court charging the trio with involvement in the brutal act, Rath said.

Wazir was a member of the State Legislative Council till March this year.
