Union Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Girija Vyas will lay the foundation stone of the Rajiv Awas Yojana at Sirsa in a function which would be presided over by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, an official spokesman said.
    
He said that 2,016 houses would be constructed near Kanganpur village over an area of 55,776 square metre and 128 houses would be built over 28,716 square metre in Khaja Khera near auto market.
    
The carpet area for one house would be 25.61 square meters on which a drawing room, a bed room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and balcony would be constructed, the spokesman said.
    
Facilities like concrete roads, pump station for drinking water, tube-well, sewerage, electricity, boundary facing and rain water harvesting would be provided in housing premises, he said.
    
A sum of about Rs 11 crore would be spent on providing basic facilities in the entire area. Ownership rights of houses would be given to beneficiaries, he added.
    
He said that a plan has been made to construct 7,474 houses in the state under Rajiv Awas Yojana on which Rs 765.95 crore would be spent.
    
There is a plan to construct maximum of 3,008 houses in Sirsa. Initially, the state government has given approval for construction of 2,144 houses under first phase of pilot project in Sirsa and a sum of Rs 95 crore would be spent on it, he said.
