Jabalpur (MP): Four persons, including two officials of a local foundry, have been arrested by CBI in a bribery case.

A case of cheating and criminal conspiracy was registered against master craftsman Arabinda Giri and fitter Jagdish Narayan Tiwari and two others Duli Chand and Mohd Shabbir Mansoor  alleging that they had demanded and accepted huge bribe for getting a person employed in the foundry, CBI officials said.

The accused manipulated selection process and thereby got a person appointed as fitter in the foundry, they said.

"After registration of the case, searches were conducted at eight places at Jabalpur and Katni (Madhya Pradesh) including residential and office of the accused persons.

"During searches at the premises connected with the master craftsman (main accused), nearly Rs 65,000 in cash, handwritten answer sheets, question papers, application forms, details of bank transactions and other incriminating documents related to the competitive written examination and practical or interview etc. for appointment of semi-skill employees for 70 vacancies were recovered," a CBI statement said.

Further investigation in the matter was continuing, it said.
