Palamu: Traffic on the National Highway number 98, which links Patna to Rajhar in Jharkhand, came to a halt for 18 hours as angry villagers blocked the highway to protest the death of four people on Tuesday night.

Villagers alleged that four people identified as - Pyari Devi, her daughter Sarita Kuamri, Deepak and Shravan, were crushed to death by a speeding truck on Tuesday night around 9:30 pm.

Villagers raised slogans against the state government and demanded repair of the highway. According to villagers, such incidents are frequent as the condition of roads in the region is very bad.
