"The cadres were rounded up from two different places under Koyalibeda police station limits," Kanker Superintendent of Police Jitendra Singh Meena told reporters. Acting on a tip-off that zonal action team commander of the banned outfit CPI (Maoist), Santu Bui was staying with his wife, Jainee Komra, at Hetarkasa village, located around 250 kms from the state capital Raipur, a team of Border Security Force (BSF), Special Task Force (STF) and district force raided the place, Meena said.

After encircling the village, the duo was apprehended, he said. While 13 cases were pending against Santu, his wife who is a member of military company's section 'C', was wanted in four cases, the SP cited, adding, both were carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh each.

Subsequently, when security forces reached Jugda village forest while cordoning off the region, they spotted two suspects and rounded them up after a short chase, he added.

They were identified as lower rung rebels, Lakashman Potai and Rainu Navgo, who admitted to their involvement with the outlawed movement during interrogation, the SP said.
