Lucknow: With Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh nearing, the state government seems to loosen its purse string to woo the employees of various departments.

The Mayawati-led BSP government is planning to give free treatment to state’s 15 lakh employees in the Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences. Following which the state government would create a fund of Rs 5 crore that would be arranged from a supplementary budget.

Apart from increment, the employees will get a benefit of 6 percent DA in their August salary. The proposal for giving salary to the employees of Sugar Corporation and Tourism Corporation as per the Sixth Pay Commission has also been approved. Not only this, the state government has also removed all the hurdles in the path of reimbursement of medical facilities given to the government employees by increasing the amount of funds. Pay discrepancies of many departments have also been eliminated.

The facilities of SGPGI have to date been availed by the staff of the secretariat only, but from now onwards all government officials would also get the benefit of it.
