Lucknow: Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh launched new health scheme for students up to 10th class in the government schools. Under the scheme, a team of specialist doctors will conduct free medical check up of students who will be given free treatment as well.

After several rounds of talks between the Chief Minister and Health Minister, the scheme has been given final touches. Akhilesh Yadav is likely to announce the scheme this month.  
   
In the first phase, students studying in the government and government aided schools will be covered under this scheme. UP Health Minister Ahmed Hasan said, “Given the financial condition, we have decided to cover the government schools in the first phase. Later, the scheme will be implemented in the Madarshas, Sanskrit schools and private schools in the years to come.”

The government will bear the whole expenditures incurred on the treatment of students added the minister.
