Puducherry: A delegation of the Puducherry Freedom Fighters Welfare Movement will call on UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi soon seeking her intervention for sanction of pension to genuine freedom-fighters.

Although several letters were written to the Centre and state government with the plea for the pension, nothing had been heard since last eight years, D Sivaraj, president of the Movement alleged in a release on Sunday.

At its meeting on Sunday, the movement also wanted the Centre to ensure that the three major textile mills-Swadeshi cotton mills, Sri Bharathi Mills and Anglo- French textiles-were revamped so that a large number of youth could get job opportunities.
