With all traditional rituals, marriage ceremony of two frogs was performed. A local priest solemnised the wedding and villagers from nearby villages were invited. Male and female frogs were decorated in wedding costumes and put in a special house made for frogs. People crooned folk songs while celebrating the event.

According to a myth, such marriage pleases Lord Indra and he blesses the earth with rains. Such customs are also prevalent in some parts of Maharashtra and other western states. People often perform this practice when there is scant or no rain.
