New Delhi: A Canadian pilot of a private air charter company was arrested on Tuesday after a live cartridge was found in his bag when he entered Delhi’s Palam Airport.

The pilot, Hubbard Rafel Jose, was supposed to fly Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari from Delhi to Nagpur.

.762 live cartridge was found after CISF conducted searches on pilot at the Palam Airport.

The 33-year-old pilot was later handed over to Delhi Police. He was produced in the Dwarka court under the Arms Act and later he was set free on bail.

IGI airport Deputy Commissioner of Police RA Sanjeev said that a .762 live cartridge was found with him on Tuesday around 9.30 am.

“CISF had screened him with metal detector. The device beeped and after searching him, the cartridge was found,” he added.
When asked about it, he could not give any satisfactory answer, he said.

Presently, his case was registered under the Arms Act and the police are investigating matter.
