Patna: Gandhi Ghat in Patna is going to wear a captivating look of Haridwar and Kashi during its Ganga Maha Aarti in the evening on Saturday and Sunday. On completion of the first anniversary of performing Maha Aarti, the administration has decided to organize a grand ceremony.

On February 25, 2011, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi had inaugurated the Ganga aarti at the Gadhi Ghat. The tourism department of the state considers it a successful move which attracts thousands of tourists.

When auspicious Aarti is offered to the Ganges at the Ghat, it reminds the Maha Aarti of Harki Pauri, Haridwar and Dashashwamedh Ghat, Kashi.

An elaborate arrangement for offering aarti has been made. Five pandits would be performing the puja and light 51 diyas.

However, the administration has failed to improve the basic facilities at the Ghat. There are no proper sanitary arrangements or drinking water facilities, sources said.
