Badrinath (Chamoli): The gates of the iconic Badrinath temple, one of the chardham yatra destinations, were closed on Thursday for the approaching winters amidst complete ceremonial rituals. Atleast 10,000 pilgrims were present at the temple to seek the last darshan of Lord Badrinath, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The symbolic procession of the lord along with Udhav and Kuber idols will head for Pandukeshwar on Friday, where the pilgrims can worship Lord Badrinath in winters. This will conclude the chardham yatra of this year.

Notably, the gates of other sites: Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath have already been closed for winters.

The special worshipping rituals went on for the whole day to mark the last day of the Lord Badrinath’s darshan.

According to the temple committee, about 9,80,000 pilgrims visited the historical temple this year. The temple received Rs 10.73 crore as donations from the pilgrims.
