Ghaziabad: As many as 31 MLAs were served notices by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) for not paying even a single installment for registration of their plot allotments.

Issuing notices on Tuesday, the GDA has asked the legislators to respond by March 31. The authority said if explanations are found to be inappropriate, it will cancel their plot allotment.

GDA Vice Chairman Narendra Kumar Chaudhary said, "A draw of plots was made to allot the numbers for the Madhuban Bapudham plot scheme in Lucknow. All the 31 MLAs were not included in the draw as they have not paid a single installment of their sum amount for the plot."

Chaudhary said that some MLAs have announced to surrender their plots and if others do not reply soon then their allotments will be cancelled.

As many as 276 MLAs had applied for plots but the applications of 2 MLAs were dismissed in the beginning itself.
