New Delhi: As the police remand of former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda, main accused in the Geetika Sharma suicide case, expires on Friday, the Delhi police are preparing to seek extension of his remand in a Rohini court for further custodial interrogation.

The police have failed to gather any vital clue so far from the accused which could help them to crack the case.

Kanda has been making all sorts of efforts to prove that he had no role in alleged suicide of deceased airhostess Geetika Sharma who was found dead on August 5. Claiming innocence, he blamed Aruna Chadha, a manager with now defunct MDLR airlines owned by Kanda himself, for framing him.

Kanda also said that he did not make any call to Geetika during past 45 days before the airhostess had allegedly committed suicide. Police is most likely to arrest an official of the airlines, Shivroop, working with the HR department of the company.

Kanda is said to have told the police that he was quite unware of the fact that persistent calls were made to the deceased airhostess from the airlines’ office. He, however, admitted that he had a talk with Geetika’s mother on August 4 but said that the call was first made by Geetika’s mother.

However, he is putting the entire blame on Aruna for sending him e-mails when he was in Dubai.
