Ghaziabaad: In order to provide safety and ease to the devotees of lord Shiva (Kaanwarias), Ghaziabad traffic police has decided to close the 250 intersections on the national highway-58 and other arterial city roads before July 25.

The traffic police have expedited the work of closing all the intersections. Some of them include Bikaner more, Delhi gate, Kala Pathhar and others.

Aiming maximum ease for the devotees, only one-way traffic would be permitted on the National Highway-58. Light vehicles would be allowed to move on one side of the road, with the other being left for movement of Kaanwarias. Heavy vehicles are being diverted through NH-24.

Traffic inspector Pawan Kumar said that police has started closing intersections from Friday and all road intersections up to Muradnagar have been closed by now.

On the other hand, special directions have been issued for security arrangements of the devotees. Senior Police inspector Raghubir Lal said 200 policemen have been told to be positioned in camps and civil defense, security agencies and SPOs have been asked to be vigilant of any suspicious activity.
