New Delhi:  To boost the planning and faster implementation of Central projects, former Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports MS Gill, who is now Planning and Implementation Minister, has written a letter to all the Chief Ministers of the country.

According to Gill, who has recently taken up the new charge, the execution and coordination of the upcoming projects should be done immediately under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary.

As mentioned in the CWG probe report, government faced a loss of at least Rs 800 crore due to the delay in the execution of Commonwealth Games (CWG) projects.

During this period, Gill and his sports Ministry were under scanner.

As reported by Parliamentary Committee, at least 50 per cent of these projects are already lagging behind and more budget allocation is required.

Land acquisition, Forest Act and encroachment are the reasons held responsible for the delay in 293 projects out of 559 infrastructural development projects.

Noticeably, these projects are already running late by three years.
