Banda, Jan 10 (Agencies): Sheelu Nishad, a girl belonging to the backward class, who had accused BSP MLA Purushottam Naresh Dwiwedi of rape and molestation, stuck to her allegations in a statement given to a court here on Monday.

Sheelu, who appeared before Judge Ravi Kumar Gupta, in a statement alleged that Dwiwedi raped her twice and his aides teased her, the prosecution said.

Brought to the court under police protection, the girl said when the MLA tried to rape her for the third time, she somehow managed to escpae.

After recording Sheelu's statement, the court ordered SP Banda to initiate immediate legal action.

Sheelu alleged police was in league with the MLA and his aides and, therefore, did not take action against Dwiwedi.

The girl had given a similar statement to a 3-member team of the National Commission for Women which visited the town on Sunday.

Sheelu, aged 17, had accused the MLA of raping her and later getting her arrested in a fake theft case.

The Uttar Pradesh government had ordered a CB-CID probe into the episode and the BSP suspended Trivedi from the party.
