New Delhi: Asking the Delhi government to file an affidavit on power crisis, the Supreme Court on Thursday sought the details of power expenses on traffic and street lights. The Apex Court also asked the state government to inform about the monitoring arrangements of these light system.

Taking note of the power crisis in the national capital, the bench of Supreme Court also asked the government to inform about the measures being taken to convert them to solar-based light system.

The court issued directions to the government while hearing a petition on power crisis.

Government’s counsel Wasim Ahmad Qadri, presenting the affidavit before the court, informed about the steps being taken for power conservation and to stop power theft.

The bench has made Damodar Valley Corporation as the party in the case as the corporation would be providing power supply to Delhi.
