Admitting a petition filed by a local resident S Ramesh, Justices V Ramasubramanian and V M Velumani directed that details be submitted by March 12.
The petitioner contended that many individuals had put up shops in the temple premises by encroaching on vacant sites, forcing devotees to buy flowers and other ‘pooja’ articles and also quarrel with devotees who refuse to purchase them.
He had sent a representation to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department on November 6 last year to evict the encroachers but had not received a positive reply.
