Darjeeling,Jan 07(Agencies): Darjeeling is headed for a spell of bandhs called by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha. It began with a four-day shutdown from January 12,on its renewed demand for a separate state of Gorkhaland to be carved out of West Bengal.  

Announcing the decision of GJM central committee here which was called to take stock of the situation after the Sri krishna Committee report on Telengana was made public, party general secretary Roshan Giri told reporters on Friday that
the first bandh would be between January 12 to 15. 

This would be followed by a second bandh from January 19 to 25 and a third one will continue from January 29 to February 12, Giri said. From February 16,GJM president Bimal Gurung and other senior leaders would begin an indefinite fast in support of Gorkhaland demand, he said.
