Undoubtedly, the wives want to look the best on this day and embellish themselves with the love and faith of their husbands. This tradition teaches the young generation that the faith and love are still present in Indian couples in today’s advanced society.

The festival of Karva Chauth emerged as a day to celebrate the season of autumn and enjoy the company of friends and relatives. But later on, many mythological legends were added to give it a religious touch.

This festival is glorified and widely solemnized by the Hindus and Sikh of north-western India. As the name signifies, Karva meaning a clay pot and chauth corresponding to the fourth, this festival is commemorated on the fourth day after the Full Moon in Kartik month of Hindu calendar.

So, why not add chaar chand (four moon) to your beauty on this special day. Here’s Jagran Post offering tips on how to glam your look on Karva Chauth.

Look 1

Face: Clean your face and apply base in an upward motion. Highlight your cheeks with light peach colour blusher. Apply bronze colour eye-shadow on your eyelid and blend it well. Highlight your lower part of the eye brow (brow bone) with brown colour. To make your eye lashes look more attractive and thick, apply two coats of mascara on your eye lashes. Define your lower and upper eye-lid with black coloured eye pencil.

Apply a little bronzer on your forehead, chin and cheek. Apply red lipstick without lip liner to give a soft and natural look.

Hair: Back comb your hair and pin it up after slightly pushing it to the front side while pressing. Make a side pony. Make a bun with half part of your hair and cur the rest of the hair brining it forward to rest on one side of your shoulders. Use hair spray for setting the hair. Your forehead should be easily visible.

Dress: Yellow sari has been highlighted with ethnic border. The contrast border very much suits this yellow sari. It is paired up with red velvet blouse.

Look 2  

Face: After cleaning your face put make-up primer and apply base on it. Highlight your cheek with bronzer. To enhance the red look, specially focus on your eye make-up. Put golden eye shadow on your eye-lid and blend it well. Now put bronze eye shadow from the middle part of your eye-lid to the outer part and blend it lightly. Now define your eyes with a deep and thick eye pencil. Highlight your lips with maroon lipstick.

Hair: Leave a section of hair on the front. Back comb the remaining part of your hair and make a bun with this. Iron the frontal hair and make a side parting with this. Then take one section of the ironed hair and curl it.

Dress: Red colour is considered auspicious for married woman. In this red lehenga made of crape, no heavy embroidery has been done. Modern brides can easily wear this. Only the hemline and the waist has been highlighted with heavy border. This has been teamed up with a spaghetti blouse made of velvet.

Look 3  

Face: Apply base on your face after cleaning it. Highlight your cheeks with light pink colour blusher. Apply golden colour eye shadow on your upper eye-lid. After blending it well put two coats of mascara. To give a natural look, apply kajal from the middle to the outer corner of your eyes.

Hair: Iron your fringes and the rest of the hair. To give a gentle and unique touch, put a yellow flower on one side of your hair. Wear crystal earrings for a glamorous and an elegant look.

Dress: This layered Anarkali style kurti is perfect for a modern bride. The yellow chiffon kurti has been teamed up with brocade chudidar.

Look 4

Face: Apply base on your face after cleaning it. Now highlight your cheeks with golden dust powder. Again highlight your eye-lid with fuschia and golden eye shadow. Blend it lightly. Define your eyes with eye liner. Apply thick kajal. Shape your lips with pink lipstick.

Hair: After side parting your hair, curl it. Now set your hair with the help of your fingers.

Dress: Tunic styled anarkali kurti has been teamed up with silver brocade leggings. This Indo-Western style can be worn even without a dupatta. This blue colour kurti is enhanced with floral embroidery and silver colour fabrics.
