Indore: Private sector airport operator GMR mooted a special time saving and cost cutting plan in Indore on Tuesday for Indore's air passengers to fly via Hyderabad to 29 domestic and 15 international destinations.

About 46,000 passengers used to fly from Indore to Hyderabad per annum and of which 8,000 were transit passengers, GMR Hyderabad International Airport CEO Vikram R Jaisinghani told reporters here on Tuesday.

GMR has been doing route level marketing with various airlines to raise transit passengers load by eight percent in a year, CEO said.

Flying Indore to Chennai via Hyderabad would save one hour and 40 minutes of flying time over Indore to Chennai via Mumbai flight, he said.

Answering a question whether GMR plans to set up a new airport anywhere in the country, he said that if the government approves one more private sector airport anywhere, GMR would bid for the same.
