Greater Noida: In compliance with the Supreme Court's directives to return land to the Sahberi farmers of Greater Noida, the Greater Noida Development Authority (GNIDA) has constituted a team of officials to start the process.

On Wednesday, GNIDA received a copy of the Apex Court orders. Acting on the SC order, the development authority will issue a letter to the builders on Thursday for the refund of money to the home buyers.

CEO, GNIDA, Rama Raman gave directives to the concerned official to abide by the court's instructions. He informed that letter has been sent to the District Magistrate for the registration of farmers name in revenue records. The officials of Land Department, Lekpal, Amin and Tehsil have started to search the name of farmers enlisted in the official record.

The CEO stated that with land will be allotted only to the farmers only after the completion of the registration process. The Development and Revenue Department officials will visit villages to demarcate the land allotted to the farmers. The farmers will get their possession only after all the formalities are completed.

It needs to be mentioned that nearly 131 farmers have already received their compensation worth Rs 17 crores. To maintain transparency in land allocation process, the farmers will be required to deposit the money. For this purpose, ADM will issue the notice regarding submission of money by the farmers.

“On the humanitarian ground, farmers who have invested their money will get time to submit the amount," said Raman.

Notably, the Supreme Court on July 6 had upheld the Allahabad High Court order which had annulled the acquisition of over 156 hectare land by GNIDA in Sahberi area.
