Panaji: Adding another populist promise to the election manifesto, BJP on Sunday said it would keep the domestic gas cylinder rates in Goa stable for the next five years.

Manohar Parrikar, who is leading the party for the Goa assembly polls, said the gas cylinder prices will not be hiked for the next five years.

"This is one assurance we give to the middle class citizens," Parrikar said, addressing a corner meeting in his constituency, Panaji.

The BJP has already promised to reduce petrol prices by Rs 11.5 per litre if voted to power.
