Panaji: The coastal state would be hosting the 'World Gaming Festival' (WGF) between September 23 and 26 at Casino Royale, one of the off-shore gaming ship anchored in Panaji city waters.

The organisers said that 600 players will compete in five skill-based games -- Black Jack, Roulette, Poker, Baccarat and Indian Flush on the off-shore vessel, which is tagged as India's largest live gaming casino.

"It's for the very first time that a competition of this nature will be held in India and around the world," the organisers claimed.

They added that ever since the fest was announced, there has been a flooding of entries.

Percept Ltd and Delta Corp Ltd jointly own the Intellectual Property of WGF and according to organisers, the prize money worth Rs five crore is at stake in the tournament.

"The winner will be awarded the tournament prize money after deducting all the applicable state and government taxes," the spokesman said.

"Casino Royale will provide an array of attractions for the participants at the festival, including an international Jazz band, award winning violinists and Saxophonists, Spanish dance performances, live commentators and some of the latest innovative entertainment acts," he said.

The entire participation process is documented and monitored from the registration till the end of the festival.
