Panaji: BJP-MGP combine's claim to form government in Goa got a boost with the Goa Vikas Party also extending its "unconditional" support to the Manohar Parrikar-led government.

GVP General Secretary Lyndon Monteiro said both the legislators of the party have signed a support letter, which will be handed over to Governor K Sankarnarayanan in the evening.

With the support of GVP, the number of MLAs supporting Parrikar-led combination has gone up to 28 comprising 21 legislators of BJP, 3 of MGP and 2 Independents.

The combine has pledged its support in the letter which would be submitted to the governor.

Monteiro said that their support for Parrikar led government is unconditional.

Goa Vikas Party, founded by late Sitaram Bandodkar, was rejuvenated by Fransisco Miccky Pacheco and managed to win Nuvem and Benaulim seats.
