The Internet giant has put a spectacular portrait of Sarojini Naidu in the place of second ‘O’ of Google logo that appears on its homepage. To mark her outstanding poetic abilities, Google has replaced ‘L’ with a pen.

She played a vital role in framing the Indian Constitution and was also the first Governor of the United Provinces from 1947 to 1949. Sarojini Naidu began her writing career at the age of 13 with ‘Golden Threshold’ credited as her first collection of poems. She stopped writing poetry after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919.
