Born on January 22, 1865, Wilbur Lincoln Scoville was an American Pharmacist who created 'Scoville Organoleptic Test' to measure the 'hotness' or 'chilliness' of various chilli peppers. Named after the Wilbur Scoville, the test is standardised as the Scoville Scale. The test is used to measure the capsaicinoid concentration in a pepper.

To honour the pharmacist, Google has designed an interactive yet witty doodle with an interesting game for its users. Projected with various chillies like Cayenne, jalapeno and others, the visitors are asked to click on the sliding bar to help Scoville 'cool down'.

Representing the Scoville heat scale, the doodle is also equipped with knowledge about the various peppers. It explains the users about the properties of jalapeno pepper etc.
