Google Glass via its Google+ social network page said, "We've got a new setting that lets you quickly and easily capture the moments you care about with a simple wink of the eye. We're starting with pictures, but just think about what else is possible."

"Glass is about helping you look up and experience the world around you without getting bogged down by technology," Google added.

A new application, named as Winky, enables controversial wink to snap a photo feature. Though, this feature has been severely criticized earlier by privacy advocates, who feel that this application can be misused.

Keeping in mind the security concerns, the updates are added with a feature that requires right "handshake" of swipes and taps in order to unlock the device. The "Glassware" code update allows the eyewear to upload video directly to online video-sharing platform YouTube.

Social networking giants such as Facebook, Twitter and other organizations have already geared up applications for Google Glass.
