It further said, "It is one app we hope you never have to use, but at least now you have the peace of mind if you find yourself in a bind."

The app, which was announced in August 2013, allows users to keep safe and secure the details stored inside an Android device by remotely adding a screen lock or performing a factory reset to erase the content.

Android Device Manager also lets users to ring their smartphones at the maximum volume in order to keep a track of the device, even if it is lost on silent mode. This tool was earlier accessible only on web.
