New Delhi: Former airhostess Geetika Sharma's brother Ankit on Saturday accused the Congress government in Haryana of shielding Gopal Goyal Kanda, the prime accused in the suicide case and demanded an unbiased probe into the case. Ankit said Kanda's surrender before the Delhi Police was drama.

"I can't say about the police supporting him, but the government is obviously supporting him. The present government in Haryana is that of the Congress and they will do all that is possible to save their reputation," said Ankit.

"It is all a drama because a person who had gone missing for the last two days suddenly appears at 4 a.m. so that he escapes the media and others because those are odd hours," he added.

Asserting that it is a well-planned and dramatic entry made by a criminal, Ankit said he hoped that further investigation into this case is unbiased.

"It is a very dramatic entry made by a criminal. It is a very planned entry. I hope that further investigations into this case should be unbiased. 12 days are enough to erase all evidences. The power that he could use by wrong means he has done that. I now expect that the investigation is fair and whatever crime he has committed should be brought to the fore," said Ankit.

Ankit demanded that the investigation now should be recorded on live camera so that Kanda does not change his statement later.

"Delhi Police is doing its investigation. But I want that the probe to be recorded on live camera, so that he doesn''t change his statement, which he has done twice before the media. The investigation should be on live camera and a retired judge should sit before him, so that there is no room for cheating now," said Ankit.

"He has already erased many evidences. Geetika's Face book (account) was deactivated yesterday. We have informed about this to the DCP. We don't know who did it and why, but Kanda is behind this. Now, we just want a fair probe.

He should be interrogated in the same manner as Aruna Chaddha," he added.

Ankit alleged that rumors have been spread and attempt was being made to defame is entire family.

He also demanded that a case should be registered against all those, who shielded Kanda for the last 12 days.

"Govind Kanda is his brother and he will try to protect his brother (Gopal Kanda).

A case should be filed against all those who have tried to save him . A case should also be registered against them for tampering with the proof," he said.

Ankit''s comments came hours after Kanda, who is accused of abetting the suicide of former airhostess Geetika Sharma, surrendered before the Delhi Police.

Delhi Police, who arrested Kanda outside the Ashok Vihar Police Station around 4 a.m. on Friday, is expected to produce Kanda in a trial court in Rohini later in the day and seek his custody for questioning.

The Delhi High Court earlier on Friday dismissed Kanda's anticipatory bail plea. Kanda had approached the High Court after the lower court had dismissed his bail plea.

A Delhi Court had earlier on Thursday issued a Non Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Kanda in connection with the case.

Delhi Police had earlier this week conducted fresh raids at Kanda residence. Kanda had gone into hiding ever since a case was lodged against him and his aide Aruna Chaddha.

Kanda and Chaddha were named in the suicide note of Geetika, who took her life on August 5, alleging that they had harassed her and ruined her life.

23-year-old Geetika was found hanging in her flat in North West Delhi.

Chaddha was arrested on August 8 after being called in for questioning by the police, while Kanda ignored police summons to him to appear before them after rejection of his request for more time made through his counsel.

Geetika Sharma, a former airhostess with Kanda''s MDLR Airline, had alleged in her suicide note that she was ending her life due to harassment by Kanda and MDLR official Chaddha.

Kanda and Chaddha have, however, denied the allegations so far.
