Chandigarh: The nuclear power plant being set up at Gorakhpur village of Fatehabad district of Haryana will not only generate 2800 MW of power but also open new vistas of development and provide employment to unemployed youth in surrounding areas, an official spokesman said on Friday.
Gorakhpur, in Fatehbad district of Haryana, would be developed as a model village at a cost of Rs 100 crore, the spokesman said.
The plant would bring many new projects which would directly benefit locals.
The plant would attract many small-scale units, the spokesman said adding a big jungle will also be developed which would enable people to visit the wildlife.
He said identity cards would be issued to farmers who have given their land for the plant and they would be given plots by the district administration.
