New Delhi: Children going to government schools could be seen in uniform, as the Delhi government has decided to introduce colourful dress for them.

The Education Directorate has become active regarding the agreement done with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) two years ago. According to the agreement the government school kids would be wearing the uniforms designed by the NIFT.

The NIFT is soon going to submit many formats of design to the Education Directorate and the Delhi government. One design has to be chosen out of them. Like the public schools, the logo of the Delhi government would also be put on the dresses.

Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said, “The kids studying in the government schools are in no way lagging behind their counterparts of public schools. This move has been taken to make them more sophisticated.”

According to officials of the Education Directorate, Teri-cotton fabric would be used the uniforms.
