Chandigarh: In an effort to beef up the security measures and surveillance, the Haryana government would install CCTV cameras at important and crowded places in the jurisdiction of all Municipal Corporations in the state.
The Police Department would control these cameras, a spokesman of Urban Local Bodies Department said on Thursday.
A written communication to this effect has been sent to the commissioners of Municipal Corporations of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Hisar, Karnal, Panipat, Ambala, Yamunanagar and Panchkula, he said.
The spokesman added that the work to install such cameras has already been started by Municipal Corporation, Rohtak with the assistance of Member of Parliament Local Area Development Fund (Rajya Sabha).
