Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government on Friday decided to provide free land for establishment of AIIMS in UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi's constituency Rae Bareli.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow. The state government will provide free of cost to the Centre 148.15 acres land including 98.30 acres of Nandganj Sihohi Sugar mill and 49.85 acres land of farmers of Sultanpur Aima and Dariyapur villages, official sources said.
The cabinet also decided to constitute a land bank to compensate use of forest land for developmental projects. The meeting gave approval for constitution of three new tehsils -- Kishni in Maipuri, Manikpur in Chitrakot and Jamunaha in Shravasti.
The cabinet also approved women entrepreneur encouragement scheme, 2013 under which a number of facilities are to be provided to women for entrepreneurship and groundwater management. A decision was also taken to connect villages
having population of over 500 people with roads.
